After the initial processing, the sewer waste undergoes a meticulous grinding process to prepare it for purification.
Industrial Purification
Adding 20 liters of our specialized industrial purifier to every 1,000,000 liters of the ground sewer waste/water mixture is a critical step in our purification process.
pH Level Testing

Thorough Mixing

While reverse osmosis (RO) desalination plants offer a method for securing clean water in coastal areas with limited rainfall, they require complex infrastructure and high energy consumption. Historically, South Africa’s abundant freshwater resources haven’t necessitated large-scale desalination. However, with increasing water scarcity, alternative solutions are crucial.
Lasops water purifiers offer a compelling alternative to traditional desalination plants. Our innovative microbiological organic purification technology eliminates the need for complex filtration systems and the high energy consumption associated with reverse osmosis (RO) desalination. Test Results (SANS241 Standard)
The lab analysis was conducted on a water sample taken from the municipal source at Kibler Park, Johannesburg South on January 31, 2024, in accordance with the South African National Drinking Water Standard of 2015 (SANS241).
According to the analysis:
Langelier and Ryznar Index Levels
The water sample tested without the Lasops purifier showed low Langelier and high Ryznar Index levels. These levels are not part of the SANS241 standard but are indicative of potential issues with piping, valves, and faucets. Such issues can lead to contamination and pose health risks including gastrointestinal problems in the short term, and potential damage to the liver and kidneys over the long term. Regular monitoring of equipment, piping, and taps is recommended for corrosion, contamination, and scaling.
SPC Count
The SPC (Standard Plate Count) of the water sample is greater than 1000 count/mL, which is higher than the ideal. However, it doesn't contain any harmful bacteria. It's noted that most municipal water tests higher than 3000 count/mL. While not of great concern, it's advisable to monitor it yearly for the development of any coliforms.
Effectiveness of Lasops Purifier
The water sample tested with the Lasops purifier is deemed 100% safe for human consumption and household use.
In summary, while the water without the purifier may have issues with its indices and SPC count, the Lasops purifier effectively ensures the safety of the water for consumption and household use.
